XBL versus PSN

Online play is one of the most integral aspects in the next-generation consoles. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are the 3 big company which handle their services although different though.

XBOX 360 versus PlayStation 3

XBL which stand for Xbox Live isn't free if you want to go online for popular games, but their payment plans really aren't bad at all. Moreover, you can get a lot considering what you pay for like Netflix, party features (joining chat groups and party watching with the aforementioned Netflix), and more fast access to online content like trailers, previews, and downloadable games.

Thus, some people accuse Sony's PSN (PlayStation Network) of being "ghetto-online"(this one actually just like a site where we can get free online games) while it's free with a neater interface, it's actually less efficient and takes too much time to navigate. It also lacks some of the features of XBL, but in place of that is a useful Internet browser. For now, PS3 and PSP users can be satisfied because knowing that they don't have to purchase anything further than their system, but that may change in the future, as there will be adding a fee to certain aspects from PSN based on discussion amongst the Sony.

By the way, don't feel too bitter if I didn't give much information about the Wii. It's not because that I hate the system, but honestly I really not interested with this console and i dont know much about this console. Besides that, from the information that I have, it's got an even more basic online interface than the PS3, and its friend code system is arguing to put it lightly.

world’s first sex robot wants to hold hands

this topic quite attract me on the news in the star online this morning. So, i would like to share with you guys what is it actually..

freshly taken on 6.23am this morning on the star online under the technology news..

In Las Vegas,

Hines, founder of True Companion, poses with a life-size rubber doll named Roxxxy during the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas

A New Jersey company says it has developed “the world’s first sex robot,” a life-size rubber doll that’s designed to engage the owner with conversation rather than lifelike movement.

At a demonstration at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas on Saturday, the dark-haired, negligee-clad robot said “I love holding hands with you” when it sensed that its creator touched its hand.

Another action, this one unprintable, elicited a different vocal response from Roxxxy the robot.

The level of sophistication demonstrated was not beyond that of a child’s talking toy, but Roxxxy has a lot more brains than that, there’s a laptop connected to cables coming out of its back.

It has touch sensors at strategic locations and can sense when it’s being moved. But it can’t move on its own, not even to turn its head or move its lips. The sound comes out of an internal loudspeaker.

Douglas Hines, founder of Lincoln Park, New Jersey-based True Companion LLC, said Roxxxy can carry on simple conversations. The real aim, he said, is to make the doll someone the owner can talk to and relate to.

“Sex only goes so far, then you want to be able to talk to the person,” Hines said.

The phrases that were demonstrated were pre-recorded, but the robot will also be able to synthesise phrases out of pre-recorded words and sounds, Hines said.

This part quite attract me,

Man U, too

The laptop will receive updates over the Internet to expand the robot’s capabilities and vocabulary. Since Hines is a soccer fan, it can already discuss Manchester United, he said. It snores, too.

Owners will also be able to select different personalities for Roxxxy, from “Wild Wendy” to “Frigid Farrah,” Hines said. He’s charging somewhere from US$7,000 to US$9,000 (RM24,000 to RM31,000) for the robot, including the laptop, and expects to start shipping in a few months.

A Japanese company, Honey Dolls, makes life-size sex dolls that can play recorded sounds, but Roxxxy’s sensors and speech capabilities appear to be more sophisticated. Hines’ goals are certainly more far-reaching.

An engineer, Hines said he was inspired to create the robot after a friend died in the Sept 11, 2001, terror attacks. That got him thinking about preserving his friend’s personality, to give his children a chance to interact with him as they’re growing up.

Major hurdles

Looking around for commercial applications for artificial personalities, he initially thought he might create a home healthcare aide for the elderly.

“But there was tremendous regulatory and bureaucratic paperwork to get through. We were stuck,” Hines said. “So I looked at other markets.”

The broader goal of the company is still to take artificial personalities into the mainstream, beyond sex toys, Hines said.

“The sex robot thing is marketing, it’s really about making a companion,” he said.

In a 2007 book, Love and Sex with Robots, British chess player and artificial intelligence expert David Levy argues that robots will become significant sexual partners for humans, answering needs that other people are unable or unwilling to satisfy

can i make photography as my hobby?

last nite, I enjoy my shopping with my family in the spring...actually, juz wan to look for a new laptop for my aunt...as i've been walking around the spring, i've entered the Sony Centre near to the shop which my aunt n my family entered to search for the laptop...i've been attracted to somethng which i really dreams to have one n0w..when i looked at the New Arrival's label on the Sony Alpha550, i start to ask the seller regarding the camera...the price oso affordable..but, i still not really pro in choosing this type of things, coz never learn bout it and juz kn0w how to handle it...hahax...anyway, i juz take a pamplet from the seller and read about it...

so this is the picture of Sony Alpha550 and some review bout it..
The A550 represents a new category of camera for Sony and the specification makes it look like the company is aiming fairly squarely for Canon's 500D and Nikon's D5000, pitching a little above both in terms of most specifications.

•14.2 mp CMOS Exmor sensor
•Manual Focus Check Live View using the main imaging sensor
•5fps in optical viewfinder mode (7fps with focus and exposure locked)
•New user interface
•HDR mode that combines multiple exposures
•5-level manually selectable Dynamic Range Optimization
•Screen articulates up or down by 90 degrees
•Increased battery life (1,000 shots when using the viewfinder)

actually still looking for Nikon, since most of my friends suggested tis brand to me..anyway, sony is not bad...
